In most cases, if you participate in a hit and run, you’re either going to go to jail for a long time or are just now waking up in the hospital. Obviously, neither one is close to being an ideal situation. In the poker world, a hit and run refers to when a player wins a big pot and then instantly leaves the table. New to the poker world is a game called Hit or Run, which is the main February promotion at PartyPoker. Open to players outside of the United States, PartyPoker welcomes Mac poker players through its slick Web Play option, which is compatible with Safari or Firefox in Mac OS X operating environments.
The Hit or Run promotion at PartyPoker, the world’s third largest online poker site, allows you to win up to $10,000 every day throughout February. Simply collect 20 PartyPoints and the site will give you $1 to bet on special Hit or Run heads-up games. If you win, they’ll double your money. You can then choose to “Hit” for another hand and the chance to double your cash or take the money and “Run.” If you lose at any point, the game is over and you leave with nothing.
You can successfully “Hit” 10 times per game, making each one potentially worth $1,024. Collect enough points and each player can play up to 10 games per day, meaning the potential to win $10,240 every single day in February. Players can log into their Party Account to check their point status and play Hit or Run.
The game of Hit or Run is played against a computer opponent. One heads-up hand is dealt for the $1 entry. If the player wins, they can choose to take the $2 and run or let it ride and go for double-or-nothing. The game is played in a flash-based window and is only accessible through your Party account on the Party Gaming website.
The promotion began at Midnight ET on February 1st and will wrap up a minute before Midnight ET on February 28th. Players need to earn 20 PartyPoints on any real money tables in order to be able to participate in a game of Hit or Run. Each additional 20 points earned gives the player the possibility to play an additional Hit or Run game. The game credit will be added to the player’s account within an hour.
Another fantastic promotion at PartyPoker revolves around the upcoming World Poker Tour (WPT) LA Poker Classic at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. Players can play in satellites to win a $14,000 prize package. In addition, PartyPoker is putting up an exclusive $1 million prize pool to be paid out if one of the satellite package winners takes down the L.A. Poker Classic 2010 Main Event title. Daily freerolls are running until February 7th.
Finally, another WPT-themed promotion gives players the chance to play in the exclusive WPT Celebrity Invitational. This event will be filled with Hollywood celebrities and also take place at the Commerce Casino. All you have to do is win one of the 15 exclusive $3,000 prize packages by using PartyPoints to join daily qualifiers.
PartyPoker continues to run strong internationally as one of the top poker sites on the internet. In 2006, it was the world’s largest poker room, but the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) in the United States in 2006 forced Party Gaming (which owns PartyPoker) to disallow players from the United States. Since that time, PartyPoker has slipped to third place behind PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, both of which continue to accept American players.
