The stakes will be heating up in February, as the popular Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) returns for its 15th incarnation. FTOPS XV will be played from February 10th to 21st and feature 27 events.
FTOPS XIV had two Full Tilt sponsored pros take down events, with David “The Dragon” Pham winning the $500+$35 HORSE event for $69,750 and Greg “FBT” Mueller winning the $200+$16 Limit Hold’em Six-Max event for $36,081. FTOPS XIV concluded with the Main Event, a $500+$35 No Limit Hold’em tournament that featured 5,471 players. In the end, “zhivago2” won first place and the $418,839 prize.
FTOPS XV will feature 27 tournaments starting on February 10th and has a prize pool of $17 million. When coupled with the MiniFTOPS XV series in March, the overall prize pool will be $23 million. The tournaments will cover a wide selection of games, each hosted by a Full Tilt pro, including knockout, shootout, turbo, and super turbo events. There will also be a Two-Day Event with a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million along with the massive $2.5 million guaranteed Main Event.
There are some extra perks if you do well in any of the FTOPS events. Everyone who makes a final table receives a limited-edition FTOPS jacket. Players who win an FTOPS XV event will receive the jacket plus a gold FTOPS jersey and avatar for use on Full Tilt Poker. The player who finishes first on the FTOPS XV Leaderboard will win a custom Full Tilt Poker avatar and a special prize package that comes with an entry to every FTOPS XVI tournament except the Two-Day Event.
There’s also a “Bouncebackability” freeroll that’s associated with FTOPS XV. If you are the last player eliminated before the money in any FTOPS event, you win an entry into an exclusive freeroll where a buy-in to the FTOPS XVI Main Event will be up for grabs. This freeroll tournament will take place on Saturday, February 27th at 15:00 ET.
The first event will take place on Wednesday, February 10th at 21:00 ET, a $200+$16 No Limit Hold’em tournament with a $1 million guarantee. Other events that have seven-figure guarantees include:
Event #10: Sunday, February 14th at 18:00 ET: $300+$22 No Limit Hold’em ($1.5 million)
Event #12, Monday, February 15th at 21:00 ET: $1,000+$60 No Limit Hold’em ($1.5 million)
Event #17: Wednesday, February 17th at 21:00 ET: $300+$22 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max Rebuy ($1 million)
Event #22: Saturday, February 20th at 14:00 ET: $2,500+$120 No Limit Hold’em Ante from Start Two-Day Six-Max ($2 million)
Main Event: Sunday, February 21st at 18:00 ET: $500+$35 No Limit Hold’em ($2.5 million)
Satellites are now running around the clock on Full Tilt Poker for many of these events. For the first one, there are five different sit and go satellites running. They include one-table tournaments that have buy-ins of $24+$6, 5,000 Full Tilt Points, $54+$3 (four-max), and $69+$6. A 36 player sit and go for $8+$0.70 is also running at this time. Every day, there are multi-table satellites running that range from $8+$0.80 to $24+$2, with 3,600 players maximum in each satellite tournament. For every $216 in the prize pool, one ticket to Event #1 will be awarded.
The MiniFTOPS XV was also announced and will feature the same slate of events at one-tenth the buy-in for over $6 million in guarantees. That tournament series will start up on March 10th and conclude on the 21st on Full Tilt Poker.
