Baltic Festival Packages Up for Grabs on PokerStars

The number one poker site in the world, PokerStars, is running a promotion aimed at encouraging players to satellite their way into the Baltic Poker Festival.  PokerStars is running twice-a-day freerolls at 13:00 ET and 15:30 ET every day until October 20.  Players can qualify for the event at Tallinn, Estonia that kicks off on October 28th.  Each prize package includes the €1,100 buy-in, five nights accommodation, and $500 in spending money.

Beyond the freerolls, players can qualify through the $22 satellite tournaments running daily, which are found in the PokerStars lobby under Events > Special.  These tournaments are actually super satellites that award seats to the $215 Baltic Festival Weekly Finals, which take place on Saturdays.  Each Baltic Festival prize package awarded at the Finals is worth $2,800.  The Weekly Finals qualifier takes plays every Saturday at 14:00 ET with 10 packages to the live tournament guaranteed.  In addition, there’s a $33 rebuy second chance qualifier every Sunday at 13:00 ET that has five seats guaranteed.

The event that players are qualifying into will take place from the 28th of October to the 31st at the swanky Swissôtel Tallinn.  The city is one of Europe’s most beloved tourist destinations and is the oldest capital in the world.  Tallinn has a population of just over 400,000 and is situated on the northern coast of the country on the banks of the Gulf of Finland.  According to Wikipedia, Tallinn’s city center actually has traces of some of the first European settlements, which are estimated to be 5,000 years old.

The Swissôtel Tallinn of Estonia is said by many to be the country’s most luxurious place to stay featuring world-renowned Swiss hospitality.  The hotel sits in the business district with panoramic views across Old Town and Baltic Sea.  The Old Town district has world-class entertainment, shopping, art galleries, and museums, all within walking distance.

The daily freerolls at 13:00 ET and 15:30 ET guarantee four $215 seats.  Players should note that the freerolls are only open to players in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia.  All other tournaments are open to all players from around the world.  Paid buy-in satellite tournaments to the $215 Weekly Final start at just $1.10 and run daily at 13:30 ET; one $215 seat is guaranteed.  Sunday through Friday features the $22 tournament, which begins at 14:00 ET and has five $215 seats guaranteed.

The $215 Weekly Final runs every Saturday at 14:00 ET and features ten Baltic Festival prize packages guaranteed.  The Weekly Final has a deep structure with starting chip stacks at 2,500 and blinds going up every 15 minutes.  Antes do not start until Level 7, when blinds are 125/250 and antes are 25.  Remaining funds in the prize pool beyond each $2,800 package will be distributed as $50 rebates and, if necessary, as a single prize less than $50.  Each player participating in the Weekly Final will be awarded 75 FPPs.

For players who miss the opportunity to win the package at the Weekly Final, they have one more shot the next day at the $33 Rebuy Second Chance tournament on Sundays at 13:00 ET.  Five prize packages are guaranteed at this event, which has a different structure than that of the Weekly Final.  Players buy their way into this tournament for $33 and there are unlimited rebuys (1,500 chips for $30) available until the first break.  A player must have 1,500 chips or fewer to be able to rebuy.  One add-on will be allowed during the first break and gives 2,000 chips for $30.

Estonian law requires that all entrants to this promotion be 21 years of age or greater. Visit PokerStars for details.
