At least $22 million in cash will be up for grabs during the 19th running of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series, or FTOPS, on Full Tilt Poker. The action gets underway in just a few short days on February 6th with a customary $216 No Limit Hold’em kickoff contest. This time around, the first event guarantees a million bucks and 45 tournaments will be held in total.
A total of nine events on the FTOPS XIX schedule will feature Full Tilt’s brand new multi-entry format. Players can buy into each multi-entry tournament up to a set number of times, effectively allowing them to multi-table a single event. If players have more stacks than the number of tables remaining at any point, then they’ll be merged together. Multi-entry tournaments could result in the prize pools of various FTOPS XIX events being considerably larger than normal.
The Main Event on February 20th is a $640 No Limit Hold’em Multi-Entry tournament that will pony up at least $3 million. During the last FTOPS, 5,023 players turned out for the Main Event, which passed its $3 million guarantee by about $14,000. A three-way chop ended matters and JHoWn pulled down $411,000 for the win. hilyaki grabbed $338,000 following the deal and landed in second place, while ReifesEisen claimed third for $380,000. A total of 720 players finished in the money and a minimum payout of $904 was awarded.
