The first tournament series of the year kicks off on Wednesday with the 15th Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS). More than $17 million in guarantees over 27 events spanning multiple poker disciplines will pan out. The FTOPS is found exclusively at Full Tilt Poker, which has a fully functioning Mac OS X software client.
A Full Tilt Pro will host each of the tournaments and events will vary among normal, knockout, shootout, turbo, and super turbo formats. There will also be another Two-Day Event featuring a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million. The FTOPS XV series will conclude with the $2.5 million guaranteed Main Event.
Grinders who finish as one of the final table players in any FTOPS XV event will get more than just a nice paycheck. If you make the final table, you will receive a special jacket. If you win an event, you’ll also get a gold FTOPS jersey and avatar for use on the site. The player who finishes first on the FTOPS XV Leaderboard will win a custom Full Tilt Poker avatar and special prize package that includes entry to every FTOPS XVI Event (minus the Two-Day Event) worth approximately $8,500.
The kickoff event will start on Wednesday at 21:00 ET and be hosted by Erik Seidel. The tournament is a $200+$16 No Limit Hold’em affair and has a prize pool worth at least $1 million. Event #2 will be played on Thursday, February 11th at 14:00ET and be hosted by Sigi Stockinger. This event will be a $240+$16 PLO/8 Knockout with a $250,000 guarantee prize pool. The very same day at 21:00 ET will be Event #3, a $500+$35 No Limit Hold’em 3X Shootout hosted by Jared Hamby. This event boasts an impressive $350,000 guarantee to close out action for the day.
The next day, the weekend tournaments kick off with Event #4. This event, a $200+$16 Cubed, will be hosted by Rob Hollink and have a $600,000 guarantee. The next event on this day starts at 21:00 ET, a $200+$16 Limit Hold’em Six-Max hosted by Michael Gracz and have a $150,000 guarantee. On Saturday, February 13th, action starts at 14:00 ET with Event #6, a $500+$25 Pot Limit Omaha Six-Max tournament hosted by Richard Ashby. The first tournament on Saturday will feature a $350,000 prize pool. The last event on Saturday will start at 16:00 ET, a $100+$9 No Limit Hold’em Rebuy with a $600,000 guaranteed.
Sunday will feature three FTOPS events for one of the biggest days of the year for tournament poker. It all begins at 14:00 ET with Event #8, a $120+$9 No Limit Hold’em Knockout featuring a whopping $800,000 prize pool. Event #9 starts a few hours later at 16:00 ET, with Haseeb Qureshi hosting a $500+$35 No Limit Hold’em Heads-Up tournament that will feature a $400,000 prize pool. Sunday wraps up with Event #10 at 18:00 ET, a $300+$22 No Limit Hold’em tournament. This event will be hosted by none other than Chris “Jesus” Ferguson and offer one of the biggest tournament guarantees in FTOPS XV, with $1.5 million on the line.
For those of you licking your chops in anticipation of winning a six-figure first place prize, but lack the bankroll, Full Tilt Poker is running ongoing satellites for these events. Satellites for Event #1 can be found either at the FTOPS XV section of the Full Tilt Poker website or within the poker site’s lobby. Ongoing sit and go satellites to Event #1 range from $8+$0.70 36-player tournaments all the way to $69+$6 nine-player sit and gos. There’s even a 5,000 Full Tilt Point sit and go you can play.
