FTOPS XV in Full Swing on Full Tilt Poker

 

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) kicked off with a bang on February 10th.  With over $23 million at stake between the FTOPS and MiniFTOPS events, players are flocking to get in to the hottest tournament series going at any online poker site.

Over the weekend, we saw some fantastic action at the tables.  Event #6 was the $500+$35 Pot Limit Omaha Six-Max tournament that had 823 entrants, making the prize pool $411,500.  With three players remaining, the survivors made a deal, with “zimp721” winning the event and taking in $65,173.

Event #7 was a $100+$9 No Limit Hold’em Rebuy tournament with 2,099 entrants and a $645,500 prize pool.  There was no deal made at this final table, as “cdbr3799” won the event outright for a whopping $131,649 first place prize.

Event #8 was a $120+$9 No Limit Hold’em Knockout that had a huge field of 8,759 players, making the prize pool $875,900.  This time when action got heads-up, the players made a deal, with eventual winner “Dr Fill Good” winning $136,250.

Event #9 was a $500+$35 No Limit Hold’em Heads-Up tournament with 1,024 entrants and a $512,000 prize pool.  Again, we saw a deal made when the action got heads-up and “AAeveryhand” took in $77,336 for the win.

The weekend concluded with Event #10, a $300+$22 No Limit Hold’em tournament that did not meet its guarantee of $1,500,000.  The overlay paid by Full Tilt Poker amounted to $95,400 to meet the guarantee.  A heads-up deal was once again the name of the game, with “jse81” winning and bringing in $225,000.

This week, there are a ton of great big-money events to participate in. Thursday features two tournaments, beginning with Event #18 at 14:00 ET as Aaron Bartley hosts a $200+$16 No Limit Cashout with a $150,000 prize pool.  Event #19 starts at 21:00 ET and is hosted by popular poker vixen Cyndy Violette.  This Stud tournament has a $200+$16 buy-in and a $100,000 prize pool.

Friday’s action starts at 14:00 ET with the $200+$16 No Limit Holdem Six-Max event with a $500,000 prize pool; Raul Paez hosts it.  Hours later at 21:00 ET, “Miami” John Cernuto will host a $300+$22 Razz event with a prize pool of $150,000.

Saturday’s first event has the second largest prize pool of FTOPS XV, a $2,500+$120 No Limit Hold’em Ante From Start Two-Day Six-Max tournament.  World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion Carlos “The Matador” Mortensen will be the official host of the tournament, which boasts an astounding $2 million prize pool.

The second of three events on Saturday is Event #23, a $100+$9 Pot Limit Omaha Rebuy tournament hosted by Joe Beevers, which has a $400,000 guarantee.  Saturday wraps up with Event #24 at 21:00 ET, a $500+$20 No Limit Hold’em Super Turbo Six-Max.  Hosted by Svetlana Gromenkova, the tournament has a $250,000 prize pool.

The “Super Sunday” of FTOPS XV will start with Event #25, a $240+$16 No Limit Hold’em Knockout Six-Max tournament.  Popular poker superstar Gus Hansen will host Event #26 at 16:00 ET, a $200+$16 Pot Limit Omaha Heads-Up contest with a $150,000 prize pool.  The final event of FTOPS XV will take place on Sunday at 18:00 ET with host Allen Cunningham and the $500+$35 No Limit Hold’em Main Event, which has a grandiose prize pool of $2.5 million.
