Full Tilt Poker Academy Launches Main Event Challenge

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event is the biggest tournament of the year, with players coming in from all points of the globe to face the best that poker has to offer.  After watching any of the fine broadcasts on ESPN covering this event and the November Nine, it’s impossible for any poker player not to imagine themselves at the final table.  This idle fancy of the mind is part of what fuels many amateurs’ attempts to play.  For some, it simply means dropping $10,000 in a matter of a few hours.  For others, it means the dawn of a new era in their lives.

The Full Tilt Poker Academy is currently holding a promotion that will allow someone’s dream of playing in the Main Event to come true.  The prize package is worth $12,000 and includes a one-on-one lesson with a member of Team Full Tilt and a $5,000 last longer bonus.  The promotion started on April 26th and concludes on June 20th.  On each day, you can take the Full Tilt Poker Academy WSOP Main Event Challenge to earn entry to exclusive Academy Challenge Freerolls, which can win you a seat in the Main Event.

The first way to get in is through the “Sit-N-Learn” events, which allow players to receive a free Tournament Ticket for entry into a daily Round 1 Freeroll.  If you finish in the top 100 in that freeroll, you’ll move on to the weekly Round 2 Freeroll.  The second way to get in is through the Academy Challenge.  All players who complete any of those challenges will automatically receive one Tournament Ticket into the Round 2 Freeroll.

Winners of the weekly Round 2 Freerolls win entry into the Challenge Final, which will take place on June 20th at 15:00 ET.  The prize at stake in the Final is none other than the $12,000 Main Event prize package.  The Academy Challenge winner will also have the opportunity to learn from the pros in person.  The winner will arrive in Las Vegas and participate in a one-on-one training session with a member of Team Full Tilt, which will be recorded for the Academy’s website.  The final piece of the prize package is a $5,000 last longer bet between you and your instructor.  If you outlast your instructor in the Main Event, you get an extra $5,000.

Every time you earn a Freeroll ticket, it will be credited to your Full Tilt Poker account as a Tournament Ticket.  To find the freerolls, go to the lobby and click on “Tournament” and then on “Series.”  From there, make sure “All” and “All Types” are highlighted and then, finally, make sure “Freerolls/FTPs” are checked.  You will find the Academy Challenge Freeroll in the tournament matrix in orange.  Once you find the tournament, click on the “Register Now” button and you are in.

The winner will receive the $10,000 entry fee for the WSOP Main Event along with $2,000 for expenses.  Winners of the prize packages will have the option of accepting three nights’ accommodation at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.  Should the player still be in the event following the initial period, continued accommodation for that player’s Main Event play will be provided on an individual basis at Full Tilt Poker’s discretion.

All players who earn an entry will be eligible to collect $10 million if they win the tournament on top of any winnings they receive.  By participating in this promotion, all players agree to wear Full Tilt Poker gear during play and all media coverage associated with the event.

The Full Tilt Poker Academy Challenge is currently taking place on Full Tilt Poker, which has a native Mac OS X client available for download.
