Full Tilt Poker Announces Piece of Ivey Promotion

Heading into the final table of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, poker sites are ramping up their promotions.  Full Tilt Poker, home of some of the top players in the world, announced its new Piece of Ivey promotion centered on sponsored pro and November Nine member Phil Ivey.  The promotion is open to all real money players on the second largest online poker site in the world.  Full Tilt Poker has a Mac OS X compatible software client available for download.

The Piece of Ivey promotion gives players the chance to win a percentage of whatever Ivey might take home when he plays at the final table of the Main Event.  The action on Full Tilt Poker started on October 8th and will conclude on November 5th.  Players must click on the “Promotions” button inside the Cashier and go to “Piece of Ivey.”  From there, they simply opt in and are automatically enrolled in the promotion.

There are three main components of the promotion.  The first gives the chance for players to win a cash prize equal to 5% of Ivey’s Main Event winnings.  The top prize at this year’s WSOP Main Event is $8.5 million, meaning that players will fight over a $425,000 potential purse.  On Friday, November 6th at 10:00 ET, Full Tilt Poker will hold a drawing awarding nine seats to an exclusive one table sit and go tournament.  Players win tickets for the drawing by playing at any of the real money games during the promotion’s duration.  The 5% of Ivey Main Event will take place on Saturday, November 9th at 14:00 ET and awards the winner 3% of Ivey and second and third places 1%.  Prize money is paid directly into the winners’ Full Tilt Poker accounts.

Tickets can be earned at ring games, as players receive five for each Full Tilt Point (FTP) earned in a winning hand.  Tournaments and sit and gos with at least 30 players award 20 tickets for each FTP earned when players finish in the money.  For those who play in tournaments or sit and gos with fewer than 30 players, they’ll get five tickets for each FTP earned in a tournament where they finish in the money.

Every ticket earned in one of these three methods is entered automatically into the 5% of Ivey Main Event Drawing.  There is no limit to the number of tickets that can be earned over the promotional period.  These tickets are also simultaneously entered into the 1% of Ivey $50,000 Freeroll, and Daily Cash Drawings.

On Friday, November 6th at 10:00 ET, Full Tilt Poker will hold a drawing from its ticket pool to award seats to a $50,000 Freeroll where the winner will take home an amount equal to 1% of Ivey’s Main Event winnings on top of the first place prize money.

The final component of the Piece of Ivey promotion at Full Tilt Poker is the Daily Cash Drawings with over $150,000 awarded.  Every day, there will be 600 cash prizes awarded by players selected from the ticket pool.  Draws for the previous day will be held at 10:00 ET each morning.  Every day features five $100 cash awards, 25 $25 cash prizes, 200 $10 cash prizes, and 400 $5 cash prizes.  On November 5th, the final cash draw will award even more money, with ten $100 prizes, 50 $25 prizes, 250 $10 prizes, and 500 $5 prizes up for grabs.

The tickets earned each day are entered into the Daily Cash Drawing.  In addition, every ticket players earn over the entire period the promotion runs is entered into the 5% of Ivey and 1% of Ivey Freeroll drawings.  Players can join in on the Piece of Ivey promotion by downloading the Full Tilt Poker software on their Mac OS X computers.
