What a great week for Mac Poker players! This week, we got brand new iPods from Apple, and wow are the new iPod Touches amazing! In addition, we have free money being thrown at players from the top two online poker sites.

New iPods are Here

Just as we reported last week, the rumor mill was once again correct, as Apple announced all new iPod models for the Shuffle, Nano and Touch lines. In addition, Apple announced iOS 4.1 as well as the soon-to-be-coming iOS 4.2 for the iPad.

The new iPod Shuffle sees the return of buttons and will still include the VoiceOver feature that was in the last version of the Shuffle. This model also has play lists and can even take advantage of Genius play lists. It has 15 hours of battery life and comes in silver, pink, gold, blue, and green. The 2 GB model will cost $49.

The iPod Nano has also been updated and no longer has a click wheel. Instead, it has a multi-touch interface to reduce the size tremendously. The new Nano is an astounding 46% smaller and comes with a 24-hour battery life. The Nano’s touch interface is very similar to other iOS devices with a home screen populated with icons to access photos, artists, play lists, control playback, and more.

The Nano’s orientation can be manually rotated to accommodate the device’s position when clipped to clothing. The new Nano comes in graphite, pink, blue, silver, green, gold, and red. The 8 GB model will cost $149 and the 16 GB model will run $179. Note that the iPod Nano can no longer play video.

The next generation of iPod Touch was announced and it looks and feels a lot like the new iPhone 4s. This new iPod Touch comes with a retina display and will also carry the same new chip, the Apple A4, as the iPhone 4. It has a rear-facing camera that can record HD video and a front-facing camera that will work with FaceTime. This device will have iOS 4.1 and offer 40 hours of music playback battery life. The iPod Touch will cost $229 for the 8 GB model, $299 for the 32 GB model, and $399 for the 64 GB model. All are available for pre-order on Apple’s site today.
