MiniFTOPS XIII in Full Swing

Full Tilt Poker is buzzing with its popular Mini Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS), which kicked off on September 9th.  The “regular” FTOPS XIII series concluded on August 16th with 25 events over the course of 11 days, with millions paid out in guaranteed prize money.  This time, the MiniFTOPS XIII gets underway and features the same 25 events as the regular FTOPS series, only at one-tenth the buy-in. Let’s review the action from the virtual felts of Full Tilt Poker.

MiniFTOPS XIII got underway on September 9th with the $20+2 No Limit Hold’em tournament with a huge guarantee of $200,000.  Each MiniFTOPS event has a host and for the inaugural tournament, Brazilian pro Chritisan Kruel served the role.  Kruel is a sponsored Full Tilt pro and cashed for over $1 million in 2008 in tournament prize money.  The event featured a unique structure, with a 5,000 starting stack and ten minute blinds.  The levels started at 10/20 and slowly went up incrementally to 15/30, 20/40, 25/50, 30/60, 40/80, and so on.  This gave players a ton of time to play deep-stacked and antes did not start until Level 11, where blinds were 120/240 with an ante of 25.  With the guarantee of $200,000, over 16,000 players turned out.

Almost half of the events in the MiniFTOPS XIII tournament series feature guaranteed prize pools of six figures.  After Event #1, there’s Event #4 which is a No Limit Hold’em Cubed event with a $20+2 buy-in and $150,000 guarantee.  Event #7 is a $10+1 No Limit Hold’em Rebuy with a minimum prize pool of $150,000.  Event #8 is a No Limit Hold’em Knockout Six-Max event with a $24+2 buy-in and $100,000 prize pool.  With a prize pool of $300,000, Event #10 (No Limit Hold’em) is one of the largest of the entire series.  Event #12 is one of the higher buy-in events at $100+9 and is a No Limit Hold’em Ante from the Start tournament.

On September 15th, Event #15 will be the $20+2 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max Turbo tournament sporting a $100,000 guarantee.  The next day is Event #17, a $30+3 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max Rebuy.  Event #20 is the $20+2 Limit Hold’em Six-Max tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000.  On September 19th is one of the two big events of the series, a $250+16 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max Two-Day event with a huge prize pool of at least $400,000.  On the final day of the MiniFTOPS, there are two events with six-figure guarantees: Event #24, the $12+1 No Limit Hold’em Knockout tournament ($100,000), and Event #25, the No Limit Hold’em Main Event with a $50+5 buy-in and $500,000 guarantee.

There is more than just money on the line when you play in MIniFTOPS events.  All players who make the final table of a MiniFTOPS tournament will receive a limited edition MiniFTOPS jacket.  Win an event and you’ll also get a swank silver MiniFTOPS jersey.  If you finish in first place on the MiniFTOPS leaderboard, you’ll win a prize package that includes entry to every FTOPS XIV tournament (except for the Two-Day event), which is worth $7,500.

Satellites are running non-stop on Full Tilt Poker for each and every event.  Simply log into the online poker site, click on the “Tournament” button, and then click on “FTOPS.”  From there, a list of sit and gos come up first, which are satellites to different events.  The actual MiniFTOPS tournaments are written in a red font.  If you double-click on an event, you will see a large window inside the tournament lobby that lists direct satellites for that specific tournament.
