One month ago, Full Tilt Poker, the world’s second largest online poker site, held the 17th cycle of its popular Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS). If you missed out on any of the FTOPS XVII action or just want a chance to do it all over again, head to Full Tilt this week for the start of MiniFTOPS XVII. The tournament series begins on Wednesday, September 8th and features the same slate of events as FTOPS XVII, but with buy-ins that are one-tenth as large.
Don’t be fooled, though. MiniFTOPS XVII will still feature $6 million in guaranteed prize money. Plus, its Main Event is shaping up to be quite a spectacle. The $75 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament will take place on Sunday, September 19th and post a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. Last time this tournament ran, 14,396 players turned out and “RioMata” banked $124,000 for the win following a three-way chop. Nearly 1,900 players made the money.
A MiniFTOPS XVII leaderboard contest will also be held and its winner will take home a buy-in to every single FTOPS XVIII event except for the Two-Day tournament. The prize has a value of around $10,000 and FTOPS XVIII will likely occur before the end of 2010.
