The WSOP for Life promotion at PartyPoker awards one of the most amazing prize packages in the history of online poker. The WSOP Main Event is, without a doubt, the most famous and lucrative poker tournament in the world. This package affords entry into it for the next 20 years (for the purposes of the WSOP For Life promotion, the term “Life” means the next 20 years). On top of paying your Main Event entry fee, as an extra bonus for 2010, PartyPoker will pay for your travel and accommodation.
PartyPoker will be giving several of these outstanding prize packages away and is making the opportunity available to all players via a leaderboard challenge and tournament.
The leaderboard will show how determined you are to win the WSOP for Life prize package and is open to Bronze, Silver, and Gold members. Players can boost their position by earning points through regular poker play starting on May 24th and ending on June 20th. The more points you earn by playing poker, the higher you will climb. Even if you do not win the first place prize of the WSOP for Life promotion, there are still plenty of prizes to win. Second place through fourth places will win a 2010 WSOP package, while fifth place through 500th places will win cash, starting at $3,000 and going down to $15.
The WSOP for Life tournament will take place on June 20th and give you the opportunity to win a share of a huge prize pool, which includes one WSOP for Life package, three 2010 WSOP packages, and $50,000 in prizes. Players can win their spot in this tournament by entering into daily freerolls. You can also buy-in directly for $300+$20, while there are daily super satellites that run for $1, $4, and $35.
The $1 and $4 tournaments feed players into the $35 qualifier, which will send one in 10 players into the WSOP for Life Grand Final. Players participating in the $1 daily will find that for every $35 in the prize pool, an entry will be given for the qualifier, while the $4 daily will send one in 10 players to the qualifier. The WSOP for Life qualifier ($35) runs daily at 14:40 ET.
There are also Single-Table Tournament (STT) jackpots available. If you win five single-table tournaments in a row between May 24th and June 18th, you’ll become eligible for a jackpot. The possible jackpots include one $50,000 gold jackpot (for players in $55+ buy-in tournaments), three $20,000 silver jackpots ($12 to $54 buy-in tournaments), and five $10,000 bronze jackpots ($3 to $11 buy-in tournaments). These jackpots are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. If you win five consecutive single-table tournaments in a row, you must e-mail your account name to [email protected] in order to claim your prize.
If you win the WSOP for Life package, you will land the buy-in and extra funds as mentioned before in 2010. From 2011 and onwards, PartyPoker will fund the buy-in to the WSOP Main Event up to a maximum of $10,000. If the buy-in ever increases, then the winner is responsible for the extra costs involved.
There is also an option for Palladium Club members to win their way in through a separate high-stakes leaderboard competition. PartyPoker offers Mac players the option of playing through a robust Web Play option that has drawn rave reviews from many in the industry.
