Chantel Mcnulty is quite the interesting character and the star of this week’s profile. Hailing from Texas, Chantel has managed to make a name for herself in a relatively short period of time. While only cashing in 4 major tournaments, she is always quite the attention getter. Her total career tourney winnings clock in at $28,865, however, she is also known for playing the odd cash games. She won $17,490 for fifth place in the 2007 Mandalay Bay Poker Championship, which is her largest win to date.
Chantel learned the game of poker from underground games in the state of Texas where she grew up. After struggling with her college courses due to playing so much poker promoted her father to give her an ultimatum, she had to choose between school and family support. Eventually she chose poker and stopped getting the financial support from her father. Still underage for most casinos, she used a fake ID to hustle cash games in Las Vegas even before she was 21.
Chantel was at the centre of a typical Vegas story when poker pro Dustin “Neverwin” Woolf told the world and his poker forums that he was leaving his fiance for Chantel. That, however, proved to be a bad move as Chantel was more interested in the poker and financial benefits of Dustin than any true love, according to the story.
While Chantel does still enjoy poker, she sees it only as a way to make money in various fashions. She doesn’t see herself as a long term poker player, but more of an entrepreneur who will be a strong business woman down the line. With that kind of attitude, we don’t think it will be that long before she’s achieving those things as well. Share this page if you enjoyed learning about Chantel Mcnulty!
