Full Tilt Poker, the second largest online poker room in the world, recently kicked off its 13th Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS). The tournament series runs from August 5th to August 16th and features 25 different events. MiniFTOPS XIII, which offers the same tournaments, but at 10% of the buy-in, will kick off on September 9th and finish up on September 20th.
FTOPS XIII has a total prize pool exceeding $16 million. The tournaments feature different poker games and formats, including knockout, shootout, and turbo events. There’s a two-day Main Event at the end of the FTOPS XIII series that will have a guaranteed prize pool of $2.5 million.
On August 5th, FTOPS XIII started with a $200+$16 No Limit Hold’em (NLHE) event with a $1 million prize pool. The field was strong for the start of the series, with 5,712 players participating in this event. The winner was “Deception Pt,” who actually took home less than the second and third place finishers thanks to a deal made with five runners left. For his efforts, “Deception Pt” took in $107,518, with “MaKaVeLi121” earning $131,692 for second and “phil_ivey41” receiving $12,298 for third.
Event #2 took place on August 6th, a $300+$22 NLHE 4x Shootout Six-Max game. Exactly 1,193 players participated in this event for a prize pool of over $357,000. In the end, it was “jive32” winning the $62,632 first place prize. “CooLJohN22222” finished in second place and won $39,369.
Also taking place on August 6th was Event #3, a $200+$16 Omaha/8 tournament. The field was 1,086 players, with “UgA7211” finishing on top. When the action got down to five players, a deal was made using the new Full Tilt deal-making feature and “HelloCity” took in $32,238 despite finishing third. First place paid out $29,630 and “Acesoverxxx” received $21,224 for finishing in second place.
Event #4 was the NLHE Cubed event with a buy-in of $200+$16 and a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000. With 1,415 players registered, the prize pool ballooned to $679,400. When three players were left, a deal was made effectively splitting the prize pool, with “TwistedEcho” finishing in first and grabbing $102,382. “YeslmaHick” finished second for $103,811 and “ELMO_MASK” finished third for $100,895.
Event #5, a $200+$16 Stud tournament, also took place on Friday. A field of 544 entered the tournament, with “Xsporean” taking home first place for $25,785 as he bested Full Tilt Poker pro Andy Bloch heads-up. The noted professional poker player received $17,081 for his second place finish.
Event #6 started on Saturday, August 8th, a $500+$35 Pot Limit Omaha Six-Max tournament. A field of 833 players participated and, heads-up, “Smouse156” and “zelik” made a deal that gave them nearly identical paydays at $76,232 and $71,000, respectively.
The NLHE $109 Rebuy event saw 2,316 players enter. With the number of entrants and rebuys, the prize pool swelled to $696,300, with “guilhermeosa” taking down first place and a whopping $126,632. Finishing in second place was “mralan2950,” who received $107,289.
FTOPS XIII Event #8 was a NLHE Knockout Six-Max tournament that had a huge field of 4,644 players, each paying a $240+$16 buy-in. Sponsored pro Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron made the final table and finished in sixth place for $27,864, but in the end it was “mikeyG16” who won the event and $177,419. Also receiving a six-figure prize was second place finisher “Capax Infiniti,” who banked $108,669.
Event #9 took place on Sunday, a NLHE Heads-Up tournament. A total of 1,024 players each put up a $500+35 buy-in. In the end, there was a deal at the final heads-up table that resulted in the winner, “NNNobodYYY,” receiving $72,721. “MrsESPN,” who finished second, got $69,614.
The final contest of the weekend was FTOPS XIII Event #10, a $300+$22 NLHE tournament with a staggering guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million. With 5,660 players participating, the prize pool ended up at $1.7 million. With four players left, the following deal was struck:

2nd Place: “conslice” – $219,772
3rd Place: “POSITIV_NEGITIV” – $160,330
4th Place: “BacoPride” – $176,000
