Most poker players dream of heading to Las Vegas to compete in the annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). The tournament series plays out once per year from the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino across the interstate from the famed Las Vegas Strip and the hotel becomes ground zero for our industry. PartyPoker is offering a unique promotion that will allow players to head to the WSOP for the next 20 years.
For 2011 and beyond, PartyPoker will deposit $10,000 in the accounts of players who take home a WSOP for Life prize package. A total of two of these unique packages are up for grabs on the longstanding site. Text found on PartyPoker’s website details a leaderboard promotion for one of the WSOP for Life packages: “Boost your position [on our leaderboard] by earning points through your regular poker play from May 24th to June 20th. The more points you earn, the higher you’ll climb. Rank first when the challenge finishes and we’ll give you a WSOP for Life package.”
Second through fourth places on the points leaderboard will take home a 2010 WSOP prize package and the top 500 players – yes, 500 – will earn cash prizes. The winners of the WSOP for Life receive travel, accommodation, and spending money for this year’s tournament series. After 2010, they’ll be on their own to cover all incidentals beyond the $10,000 Main Event buy-in. If the Main Event buy-in were to increase above $10,000, hasn’t happened in 41 years, players would be responsible for the difference.
On June 20th, PartyPoker will be hosting a WSOP for Life tournament that comes with a $320 price tag. The event kicks off at 15:35 ET and the winner takes home a WSOP for Life prize package. Second through fourth places will earn a WSOP Main Event package, while fifth through 50th in the final tournament standings will take home cash. A daily $35 qualifier at 14:40 ET sends players into the WSOP for Life finale in June. Satellites to the $35 qualifier are available as well.
You can also qualify for the WSOP for Life tournament via single-table tournament (STT) jackpots. All you have to do is win five STTs in a row at a particular stake to be eligible. The first player to win five $55+ buy-in STTs wins entry into the WSOP for Life tournament plus $50,000 in cash. The first three players to win five straight $12 to $54 buy-in STTs will take home a WSOP for Life entry along with $20,000. Finally, the first five players to win five straight $3 to $11 buy-in STTs win $10,000 plus a WSOP for Life tournament entry.
Once players have won five STTs in a row, they should e-mail their account name to [email protected]. All prizes are awarded on a first come, first served basis, so if you qualify, send an e-mail immediately and you’ll find your PartyPoker account balance boosted by five-figures. Plus, you’ll have a chance to win WSOP Main Event entries for the next 20 years.
